Before, this town was called
Tarampitao Point, a Barangay
included in the Municipality of
Quezon. It came into existence
when Batasang Pambansa passed a
law creating the Marcos Town on
April 1983 through Batas
Pambansa Blg. 386. On April
1988, the congress enacted
Republic Act No. 6652, changing
the Municipality to Dr. Jose P.
Rizal. The town is home to the
famous Tau’t Bato tribe or the
cave dwelling people. It is also
endowed with bountiful natural
resources and potential tourism
destinations.
At present, Rizal is composed of
eleven (11) coastal Barangays
composed of different people
such as the early settlers or
natives and immigrants of
settlers from different regions
with distinct regional traits
and culture. |
